EOT Move

Driven by strong growth in recent years, Electro-Optics Technology, Inc. (EOT) announced it will be moving to a new facility. The building is approximately 40,000 sq. ft. and features about 15,000 sq. ft. of new clean room space and nearly double the manufacturing space for optical components. The company says that this new layout will allow for increased efficiency in workflow and production lines, with benefits to be passed along to its customers. The company has been supplying enabling components such as optical isolators and diagnostic equipment to manufacturers and users of high power laser systems since 1987.

The move to 3340 Parkland Ct., Traverse City, MI, will be effective October 19, 2015

Volunteers Urge Congressional Action on Photonics Partnerships, Higher Education

SPIE and other NPI volunteers visited Congressional offices last week to urge support for specifying optics and photonics technologies in reauthorization of legislation encouraging public-private partnerships, and for reauthorization of the Higher Education Act including photonics vocational objectives. The actions would help ensure that jobs and talent stay in the USA, encourage new technology development and revenue sources, and foster development of a capable workforce for the future.

Mi-Light Scholarships are Awarded by Baker College

Ann Arbor, MI — Mi-Light, the Michigan photonics industry cluster, announces that $3,000 in scholarships given to Baker College of Flint have been awarded. Roger Fischer and Dennis LaPorte, have each received a $1,500 scholarship to pursue an associate degree in photonics and laser technology at Baker College.

Farmington, Conn., June 22, 2015 - Effective July 1, 2015, Annette Doyle will take on the role of Managing Director of TRUMPF Limited, the UK subsidiary of the TRUMPF Group, located in Luton, Bedfordshire. She succeeds Mr. Scott Simpson who will leave TRUMPF after more than 20 years to pursue his own individual projects.
