Job Title: Test Engineer

  • Job Description: Duties and responsibilities associated with this role include: • Lead in development and implementation of test strategies for defense contract programs. • Evaluate customer requirements, generate test plans, procedures, perform qualification tests, analyze data and report results. • Collaborate with internal design and manufacturing personnel as well as government programs and other external customer personnel. • Evaluate customer life cycle, test requirements and formulate into internal methods and procedures. • Assess test equipment needs and develop plans for internal test capabilities. • Perform fault investigation and troubleshoot test equipment. • Prepare documentation for product design and improvements, which include design reviews, product specifications, statement of work, manufacturing process procedures. • Recommend product design improvements based on test and analysis results. • Manage subcontractors at external test labs as well as support failure investigations and corrective actions. • Direct and train technicians and operators on new test methods and procedures. • Periodically work in prototype lab and manufacturing floor as required. • Adhere to all company rules, policies, procedures and work instructions. • Perform job duties in a manner that maintains compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and procedures. • All other duties as assigned. Education/Certification: • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Experience Required: • 2-4 years experience in one or all of these fields, electronic or optical product development, qualification environmental testing, test equipment design and implementation. • Technical Background in product and process quality improvement, failure investigation and corrective actions. • Military standards environmental testing requirements. Knowledge, skills and abilities: • Ability to work to the priorities of safety, quality and productivity • Leadership skills in test fixture development, design and presenting of reports that convey quality and reliability information. • Strong relationship and team building skills • Computer skills (MS Office Applications) • Ability to develop documents including; statement of work, engineering change notice, product test plans, procedures and reports. • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
